Funhouse OC Productions is the brainchild of Thomas Jovan Almeida and Kristopher "Steve" McClain - two childhood friends who grew-up together on the OC Punk Rock and surf scene.
The company’s remit is to craft and produce high quality music-driven film and TV projects that showcase the many unique stories that have touched the producers personally. Company co-founder Thomas Almeida explains it simply as… "We hope to capture a moment in time, with music, surf and forbidden love."
Funhouse has numerous projects in development currently including an 8-part documentary series for streaming entitled MY PUNK LIFE and an 80s Orange County based music feature with the working title CRUEL, CRUEL SUMMER. Replete with extensive interviews of fans and musicians MY PUNK LIFE explores the moments of discovery when many individuals first heard the music and came to understand the aesthetic that has made ‘punk’ so explosive and important the world over. CRUEL, CRUEL SUMMER is a modern day re-imagining of Romeo & Juliet with a Valley Girl spin and explores the duality of wealth and poverty growing up in Orange County in the 80s. The soundtrack will feature local music and KROQ hits, much like American Grafitti did with sounds of the 60s and Wolfman Jack. Funhouse’s inaugural feature RIOT ON REDCHURCH STREET (The Director’s Cut) starring Sam Hazeldine (Rings of Power) and with original songs by Siobhan Fahey (Bananarama/Shakespear’s Sister) will hit the festival circuit and major streaming platforms first quarter of 2025.
